All good web pages must have the collection of absolutely useless pictures. Designed for no purpose other than to consume kilobits. And hopefully show off some of my Photographic skills. The Creative section of the TRIP is my imagination trying to run free. I have a fascination with sexual, spiritual and meta physical abilities, and these stories show it.
Part of the images directory contains some of my digital artwork. These images have been created or enhanced by myself, with the help of the 1s and 0s machine.

Maybe I'm showing my ignorance, but I thought a cup was a measure of volume (250 millilitres or ml). Mostly used to measure liquid, gas, powder and geometric shapes, not a vegetable. At the supermarket I wouldn't expect to be charged per litre of onions I purchase. It's always measured by weight, 1 kilogram of onions.
So why does a cooking recipe call for 2 cups of onions. And how am I supposed to measure that accurately. Onions don't fit in a cup very efficiently. Onions are almost spherical maybe I could measure the circumference and calculate the volume that way. Maybe I could measure the average density of an onion and convert the volume to a weight.
I'm feeling like a square peg in a round hole again. It didn't really make sense or occur to me to chop up the onions and measure the resulting volume. Not really precise enough for my head. If they wanted something that inaccurate why didn't they say 4 medium onions? A cup? A cup of all things. I wouldn't walk into a hardware store and ask for 20 cups of bricks, despite bricks being rectangular and having an easily calculable volume.
I might just go measure the circumference and then weigh the next onion I find.
